Project Overview
This Project will focus on the rehabilitation of bridges, culverts and pavements, and maintenance of existing infrastructure within the Study Area.
A Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) for the Preliminary Design of the Highway 401 from Leslie St. to Warden Ave. was completed in 2012.
This Project is intended to address the Eastbound Express lanes improvements from Avenue Rd. to Warden Ave., which are focused on the rehabilitation and maintenance of existing transportation assets within the Study Area.
The rehabilitation work will extend along the Eastbound Express lanes on Highway 401 from Avenue Rd. to Warden Ave., involving rehabilitation of structure, pavement, and overhead signs; and lane realignment.
Key improvements will include:
- Highway 401 Eastbound Express Rehabilitation from Avenue Rd. to Warden Ave.
- Bridge replacement at Bayview, CNR/Metrolinx, Leslie St and Don River structures
- Drainage, Culverts, Retaining walls
- Traffic signage and roadside safety
- High Mast Lighting
This Project will be delivered through a series of construction contracts in the coming years.
